Treatments Explained
The range of conditions treated at The Vale Clinic includes:-
This forms the majority of our work. This can frequently be caused by an injury or simply by wear and tear over a period of time. We aim to restore you to full, pain free movement.
Physiotherapy can help to get you back to normal much more quickly following most orthopaedic operations.
Such as repetitive strain injury (eg caused by working at a P.C) – physiotherapy aims to ease the symptoms and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
Sports such as rugby, football, cricket, tennis, golf and squash – to name but a few – can sometimes leave you with injuries which not only prevent you from playing but also interfere with the rest of your life. Physiotherapy can speed up the healing process and get you moving and playing again. A properly planned, personalised programme of exercises prepared here for you can help to prevent recurrences.

Much can be done in most cases to improve your mobility and to reduce pain – often by working on the muscles supporting the joints, and by the use of electrotherapy and, where appropriate, acupuncture .
We have physiotherapists in our team who specialise in this area, principally using manual techniques and massage.
These can easily occur in the ordinary course of everyday life – for example when lifting or moving something, when gardening or cleaning or just by making a sudden movement. The pain can often be severe and disabling – but can usually be resolved completely with appropriate physiotherapy treatment.
